Reecy is Awesome.

First – if you haven’t already, I recommend reading the backstory of how Reecy and I first connected in 2010.

You can find that story here.

Reecy is, in a word, awesome.

BUT – if I had to think of three words to describe Reecy, they would be:

  1. Generous
  2. Optimistic
  3. A-Master-of-Fun   🙂

Generous

Generous would be the understatement of the year. From how she celebrates the milestones of the people in her life … to all the many ways she gives back to her community … to how she shares what she has … to how she consistently goes above and beyond to make others feel welcomed, comfortable, and appreciated … Reecy’s spirit of generosity is alive and overflowing.

It’s how she lives.

Optimistic

From the moment I called her, at 10:00 at night, with my seedling idea for what is now the Nomadic Adventure Club, she was game. She “saw” it immediately. While packing for a trip that she was flying out to early that next morning, she chatted with me and in a matter of 20 or so minutes expanded the idea out far beyond what I had initially envisioned it could be.

Each idea sparked another, and I knew then that we’d be partners in the venture.

One aspect of a good business partnership is when each partner brings different skills to the table. Logistical details tend to send me into overwhelm pretty quickly, definitely not my forte. But Reecy assured me, making it all sound so doable.

(It was an intuitive nudge that told me to call her. I’m so glad I listened and picked up the phone.)

Master of Fun

The ability to HAVE a good time and the ability to PLAN a good time are vastly different skills. Not only is she good at having a good time, Reecy is masterful at planning a good time. In a flash, she sees how to insert more fun into any idea and quickly puts the logistical pieces in place.

She’s a pro. A few phone calls, a quick visit to the restaurant, or the marina, lining up a yoga teacher and a gong bath player with a few emails, putting together a crazy fun “boat to lunch” cruise …. and even surprising me and Carl with Nomadic Adventure Club t-shirts and coffee mugs!

Reecy makes fun happen. Full stop.

One last note: She often wears her huge heart on her sleeve. Like when – in the picture seen here – I showed her the Nomadic Adventure Club website for the first time, and she cried, right there in the restaurant. (My guess is when she reads this too, she’ll be deeply touched. I hope so. I want her to know how appreciated she is.)

If you know Reecy already, you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t yet met her, that’s reason enough to join us for our lakeside July 2018 Nomadic Adventure Club gathering in the foothills of the Tennessee Smokey Mountains.
